"Maximizing the Value of Health IT"
The theme of this year's poster competition is "Maximizing the Value of Health IT"
Posters can be original research, case report, or opinion; and should emphasize the transformative potential of information technology. Potential topics can include: Integrated infrastructure, cloud computing, global case studies, information exchange, information integration, continuity of care, ACO, bundled payments, clinical transformation around personalized health or population health, operations and workflow redesign, mobile health, and others. Posters will be judged on insight into the topic as well as the potential and level of innovation demonstrated.
Any student (full or part time) at a Virginia college or university is eligible to participate. Students may collaborate with others, but the primary author (or authors) must be a student. At least one author should be in attendance at the conference. All students with an interest in Health IT regardless of major (e.g. MHA, MBA, MIS, etc.) are welcome. Maximum poster size is 56"x40". To participate in the Student Poster Competition, students must submit a one page idea summary to Jon DeShazo firstname.lastname@example.org by September 8, 2017. The Idea Summary shall include: Names and Photos of authors, Affiliations, Title, and a brief Summary of your poster idea. The top 10 Idea Submissions will be invited to participate in the Student Poster Competition at the Virginia HIIMSS Annual Fall Conference. A 1‐year Student HIMSS Membership will be awarded to all finalists who attend the conference.
Simple Steps to Participate:
1. Create a great one‐page idea summary with your friends and colleagues.
2. Sent it to email@example.com by September 8th.
3. Decisions on finalists will be made by September 12th.
4. Finalists create a poster to present at Va HIMSS Annual Fall Conference on October 12‐13, 2017, in Williamsburg VA 5. The top 3 posters will win cash scholarships!
