2017 Poster Competition Winners!
The theme of this year's poster competition was "Maximizing the Value of Health IT"
Posters could be original research, case report, or opinion; and needed to emphasize the transformative potential of information technology.
Potential topics could include: Integrated infrastructure, cloud computing, global case studies, information exchange, information integration, continuity of care, ACO, bundled payments, clinical transformation around personalized health or population health, operations and workflow redesign, mobile health, and others.
Posters were judged on insight into the topic as well as the potential and level of innovation demonstrated.
Any student (full or part time) at a Virginia college or university was eligible to participate. Students may collaborate with others, but the primary author (or authors) must be a student. At least one author should be in attendance at the conference. All students with an interest in Health IT regardless of major (e.g. MHA, MBA, MIS, etc.) are welcome. Maximum poster size is 56"x40".
To participate in the Student Poster Competition, students submited a one page idea summary to Jon DeShazo firstname.lastname@example.org .
The Idea Summary included: Names and Photos of authors, Affiliations, Title, and a brief Summary of your poster idea.
Idea Submissions were invited to participate in the Student Poster Competition at the Virginia HIIMSS Annual Fall Conference.
A 1‐year Student HIMSS Membership will be awarded to all finalists who attend the conference.
